- Do not drive or operate heavy machinery until you know how you respond to the medication.
- Contact your physician before stopping medications and do not stop it abruptly. Stopping Alzheimer's medications, antipsychotics or antidepressants quickly can result in mental and behavioral changes.
- Contact your physician for side effects that are severe, persistent or are troubling
i.e. dark tarry stools, cloudy urine, chest pain, shortness of breath, high blood pressure, fainting, diarrhea, aggression, seizures, decreased urination, painful urination etc. - Dosages of Alzheimer's medications, antidepressants, antipsychotics or anti-anxiety medications should always be started low and increased slowly
- Take the medications at approximately the same time daily
- For liquid preparations shake the medication well, and use an accurate measuring device.
