Areas of Reasearch

Research into Alzheimer's disease is ongoing in many areas such as exercise, music, pets, and medications to nutrition. As a result one frequently hears of vitamins such as folate, Vitamin B 12 or B6 or Vitamin E that can possibly help with memory. People sometimes begin to take large doses of these vitamins and then may find out years later that their effects are questionable or problems begin to arise when dosages are too large. It is important to remember that a deficiency in certain vitamins such as folate, the B vitamins or Vitamin E may increase the chances of certain diseases and make symptoms worse. As a result, you should correct the deficiency, preferably through healthy eating. If you wish to also take vitamin supplements, consult with your physician or pharmacist to determine an appropriate dose. Large doses are not always better.
